Snap Seed: App Redesigning

Snap Seed
A photo editing app
Role:
UX/UI Designer
Platform:
IOS/ Android app
Overview
Snap Seed, Google sponsored photo editing app is quite infamous about its design and structure. The tools it has are very functionable but the framework it follows is very poorly put together. It has a lot of negative and white space without any interactivity between its features.
Problems
The app uses a very restricted layout with a bland visual which makes the download rate low, and especially uninstall rate a lot higher.

A/B Testing

During the research, I laid out different themes or actions a persona would want to have included in the app. This research led me to create a mind map which then turned the document into a sitemap for app navigation.

Mood Board / Style Guide

All this research and styling led me in the creation of the wireframes and a complete prototype of the final app. This approach I took helped me modifying the app's layout by adding more color, visual elements by maintaining the same consistency through out the prototype.
